Abstract thesis Sarah Kohlrautz

The paper deals with the influence of perfectionism (Stöber, 2004) and conscientiousness (NEO-PI-R, Ostendorf & Angleitner, 2004) on three dimensions of intelligence. Among the "classical" dimensions of intelligence are reasoning (WIT-2, Kersting et al., in press) and speed (BIS-4, Jäger, Süß & Beauducel, 1997) as well-known parts of different intelligence models. The third factor is work efficiency as a new dimension. The three factors have been confirmed by factor analysis. Furthermore analyses of regressions and correctional analyses revealed an influence from "negative reactions to imperfection" on reasoning and speed. Conscientiousness, especially competence was more important for work efficiency in comparison to the other facets.
